For some time, Alice Mail has given way to a new e-mail platform that takes the name of TIM Mail. The system is now more organized and in step with the times, in such a way as to allow users – and therefore you too – to be able to move in a simpler and more intuitive way.
Clearly, all the steps involve some “settling” problems. For example, there are not a few who complain of not being able to access Alice Mail or TIM Mail, with the platform deeming the username and password “wrong”.
From Alice Mail to TIM Mail: how to solve access problems
If you have also happened to be unable to log in with your email client, don’t worry: this is a solvable problem.
All you have to do is go and fix the program settings, as the criticality is almost certainly in this aspect. Certain parameters are required to configure Alice Mail and TIM Mail with the various e-mail clients.
For Alice Mail addresses you need to know all the configuration parameters. For the incoming mail server (IMAP or POP3) you will therefore have to enter in.alice.it. , while for the outgoing mail server (SMTP) the parameter is out.alice.it.
As a username, you will need to enter your Alice Mail email address or email@example.com. Also, enter the password of your Alice Mail account, and as an outgoing mail authentication, you must always enter the username and password of the incoming mail.
How to access Alice’s email from a PC
Once the parameters have been re-established, you can safely manage e-mail through one of the e-mail clients, namely Outlook, Windows 10 Mail, Apple Mail, and others.
However, you can also access Alice’s email via the browser you normally use to browse the web. Regardless of whether it is Google Chrome, Mozilla, Safari, Internet Explorer or Edge, you can access your mailbox by going to the official TIM website and entering the credentials of your Alice account, i.e. username and password.
To configure the Alice Mail mailbox on Windows 10 Mail instead, you need to go to the Manage Account option that you find in the app menu. Click on Add Account and then on Advanced configuration, with a final click on the Internet Mail option. At this point you will have to enter all the necessary data, that is the e-mail address, the username and password, the account name, and the name that appears with the outgoing mail.
As the last step, you will need to set the Account Type menu on IMAP 4 by entering those data relating to the incoming and outgoing mail servers we referred to earlier. Finally, click on Sign in.
If you have a Mac instead, look for the Add Account option in the Mail app (found in the Mail menu). Check the Other Mail Account option and click Continue. Here, too, you are asked to enter the data, i.e. name, e-mail address, and password. Finish by clicking on Sign in and wait for Mail to complete the configuration.
How to access Alice’s email from a smartphone
Yes, you can also configure Alice Mail on your Android or iOS phone, using the respective default management apps (Gmail and Mail). If you have an Android phone, go to Settings and click on Accounts / Accounts & Synchronization, then clicking on Add Account. Select the Personal (IMAP) option, enter your email address, and click on Manual Setup.
Also, enter the password and press Next, also adding the server settings for incoming and outgoing mail. If the configuration has not gone smoothly, click on Next and indicate the e-mail management parameters, such as the sending of receipt notifications and automatic synchronization.
If you have an iPhone, go to Settings, click on Mail, and then on Accounts. Select the Add Account option. A screen will open where you will have to first click on More and then on Add Mail Account.
Enter the data, which is the name to display for outgoing messages, the address of the e-mail box, and the password you use to log in. Complete by clicking on Next and then wait a few seconds for Mail to automatically retrieve the parameters for incoming and outgoing mail (otherwise you can enter them manually as I explained to you in this article).
Once the configuration is complete, click on Next, synchronize the elements you are interested in – such as mail and contacts – and finish by clicking on Save.
